UMD Men Land North Branch Leading Scorer Meyer

Minnesota Duluth received a Father’s Day verbal commitment from North Branch High School’s leading scorer last season. Vikings forward Brady Meyer, who will be a junior in the fall, committed to the Bulldogs on Sunday via Twitter.

“Proud to announce my commitment to play hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth!” tweeted Meyer. “Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way!”

Meyer, 16, posted 33 goals and 25 assists in 26 games last season as a sophomore. He led North Branch in scoring as a freshman too with 10 goals and 19 assists in 25 games.

Meyer was recently selected in a pair of junior league drafts. He went in the fifth round of the United States Hockey League Entry Draft to the Bloomington Thunder and in the fourth round of the North American Hockey League Draft to the Minnesota Magicians.
