Sandelin Rules Out Swaney For NCHC Series At Colorado College

So much for the Bulldogs getting back to full strength.

Minnesota Duluth will be without freshman wing Nick Swaney this weekend when it returns to NCHC play at Colorado College. Puck drop is at 8:37 p.m. Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.

Bulldogs coach Scott Sandelin ruled Swaney out during his weekly press conference on Wednesday due to an undisclosed injury. The Minnesota Wild’s 2017 seventh-round draft pick already missed six games in November with an upper body injury.

Despite appearing in just 15 games this season, Swaney ranks third on the team in scoring with three goals and nine assists.

UMD has the rest of its roster available this week after getting five players back from the U.S. National Junior Team that won bronze at the World Junior Championship. Sandelin said all five will be available to play this weekend.
