Crowell Named To Coaching Staff Of U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team

Minnesota Duluth coach Maura Crowell will once again serve on the coaching staff of the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team in 2017-18, this time as an associate head coach.

Crowell was last on the USWNT U18 coaching staff in 2015-16 as an assistant coach when the team captured gold at the IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship. She’ll once again be working under Minnesota associate head coach Joel Johnson.

Johnson, Crowell and assistant coach Courtney Kennedy, associate head coach at Boston College, will coach the U18s in a series against Canada on Aug. 17-20 in Lake Placid, N.Y. and later at the 2018 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, which has yet to be announced.

  • Outgoing Bulldogs senior forward Katherine McGovern will serve as an assistant coach for the Arizona State women’s club team in 2017-18. The Sun Devils compete in Division I of the American Collegiate Hockey Association and are coming off their inaugural season.
