Cloquet native Koby Bender has signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Minnesota Duluth in the fall.
The 19-year-old wing who turns 20 in July has spent the last two seasons playing junior hockey after leaving the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton program following his junior year.
Bender posted 18 goals and 36 assists in 66 games for his hometown Minnesota Wilderness of the Tier II North American Hockey League in 2015-16. This past season he recorded six goals and 18 assists in 59 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the Tier I United States Hockey League.
Bender’s signing, as of now, gives the Bulldogs a full roster for 2017-18 of 15 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. UMD will have eight freshmen on its roster next season.
