Bulldogs’ Kotyk Signs AHL Deal With Hartford Wolf Pack

Outgoing Minnesota Duluth senior defenseman Brenden Kotyk has signed on with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League for the 2017-18 season. The Wolf Pack are an affiliate of the NHL’s New York Rangers.

Kotyk, whose collegiate career started at St. Scholastica, posted seven goals and 16 assists in 97 career games at UMD, including three goals and 10 assists in 41 games as a senior.

Kotyk is the sixth member of the 2016-17 Bulldogs and fourth senior to sign a professional contract. Seniors Alex Iafallo (Los Angeles Kings) and Carson Soucy (Minnesota Wild) signed NHL deals while Kyle Osterberg signed with Sparta Sarpsborg of Norway. Sophomore Neal Pionk signed with the Rangers and freshman Hunter Miska signed with the Arizona Coyotes.
