Bulldogs In The 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

The 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs get underway tonight and if you’re a fan of the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, and are looking for a team other than the Minnesota Wild to root for (say you are a lost and confused Detroit Red Wings fan whose team is not in the playoffs for the first time in a quarter century), you’re options are pretty thin.

Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen of Virginia, Minn. is the lone former Bulldog playing this year in the Stanley Cup playoffs as of right now, though it is expected the Wild will call up former Bulldogs goaltender Alex Stalock from the Iowa Wild once the AHL regular season wraps up this weekend.

Here’s the short list of UMD alumni who will be on the ice, on the bench and in the front office for the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
