In addition to previewing the Minnesota Duluth men’s and women’s home hockey series this weekend at Amsoil Arena, this week’s Bulldog Insider takes a look at the impact former UMD captain Andrew Carroll had on the Bulldogs program.
Carroll died Monday at the age of 32 in Chicago. He holds the distinction of being the only Bulldog to ever serve as an assistant captain and captain for all or parts of four seasons.
I spoke with UMD sophomore wing Riley Tufte after Tuesday’s game in Mankato about Carroll. Tufte grew up training with Carroll and still did last summer when he was back home in Blaine.
For that story, plus stories and capsules previewing the UMD men’s series against St. Cloud State and the women’s series against Ohio State, check out this week’s Bulldog Insider, a free email newsletter from the News Tribune.
