Two future Minnesota Duluth defensemen are taking part in the 2017 NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, N.Y. this week.
Incoming Bulldogs freshman Mikey Anderson and 2017 Hermantown High School graduate Dylan Samberg arrived in Buffalo on Monday. They and 104 of the top prospects for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft will take part in medical examinations, team interviews, fitness testing and drills. The combine wraps up Saturday.

Samberg, who is verbally committed to UMD after leading the Hawks to a pair of Class A state championships, was ranked No. 67 among North American skaters in the final 2017 draft rankings by the NHL Central Scouting after being No. 43 in the mid-term rankings. Anderson, who played for the Waterloo Blackhawks in the United States Hockey League this year, was ranked 51st in the final rankings. Samberg finished the season with Anderson in Waterloo.
The 2017 NHL Draft is June 23-24 at United Center in Chicago.
